
Sewing Simple Doll Clothes (ages 10-13)
Is your doll ready for a new wardrobe? Learn to sew simple doll clothes by hand or machine. Learn basic sewing skills while sewing a new wardrobe for your doll. Perfect for 18” dolls, including American Girl Dolls.
Apron: learn hem, gather, and straight stitches
Skirt: learn seams, elastic casings, and adding elastic. Optional: adding ribbon or trims
Pants: learn to use a pattern and sew more complicated seams
Simple Blouse: learn to sew on snaps
Simple Dress: Combine previous skills to sew a more complicated outfit
Upcycling short- and long-sleeved knit shirts into doll clothes
8 week session. Students will need to work on projects between sessions.
Apron: Learn straight stitch, hemming, and gather stitch
Elastic waist skirt. Learn: sewing elastic casing and inserting elastic
Knit skirt. Learn to up-cycle toddler shirt to create an elastic waist skirt
Knit skirt. Learn to up-cycle sleeve of adult T-shirt to create an elastic waist skirt and add decorative trims

Blouse. Learn: how to snip curved/angled seams and sew snaps
Snap-up the back Dress: combine all previously learned skills to sew a dresss.
