Art Quilts Available for Purchase
I love the entire process of creating quilts. I love researching and gathering ideas that swirl in my head until a design plan comes to mind. I enjoy capturing my design ideas in sketches, whether on a handy scrap of paper or as a actual-size drawing. Selecting fabric gives me an excuse to sort and stroke my fabric stash as I gather then refine a collection of fabrics for each project. Applique allows me to create precise details while machine piecing allows for quick, crisp seams. I rarely plan borders in advance. Each quilt lets me know what border it needs as I assemble the top. Although basting the layers together always takes longer than I expect, I spend the time removing stray threads and thinking about where and to whom the quilt will eventually go. I love the meditation of hand quilting smaller wall quilts. I also love the texture of machine quilting. As I bind the edges of the quilt, I bind in my love and well wishes to send with the quilt to its new home. As the final touch, I give each quilt a label with the quilts title information about myself, the inspiration behind the quilt, when and where I made the quilt, and who the quilt is for when applicable. Although I have designed and created quilts for over 30 years, I have just begun to offer quilts for sale.
If you don’t see just the right quilt in this gallery, contact me to discuss commissioning a quilt.
