Drawing Realistic 3D Castles

Learn to draw realistic 3D castles by first learning to draw basic 3D forms, then combine them into architectural forms. Learn to create and use value and texture to increase the realism. Finally, after viewing a variety of fortresses, castles and palaces design and draw your own realistic castle. Add landscaping to complete the project.

• Drawing 3D forms: Learn to use line and value to draw cube, rectangular prism, triangular prism, cone, cylinder, sphere, pyramid forms. Combine these forms into architectural forms.

• Drawing texture: Learn to draw brick, stone, shingle, plank, ivy, glass, ironwork, and other textures.

• Brainstorming and sketching: After viewing a variety of fortresses, castles and palaces it is time to brainstorm and plan and sketch in preparation for designing your own castle.

• Design your own Castle: Put it all together...Design your own castle with landscaping.

6-8 week session
