Intermediate Observation Drawing (ages 10-13)

• Experimenting with Contour vs Gestural lines: draw the same object using a variety of techniques and discuss the benefits, challenges, and uses for each.

• Nature still-life: dive deeper into drawing texture by drawing collection of immobile nature objects with variety of textures arranged into a still-life.

• Container with objects: use value to show dimension and shadows while drawing a container with a collection of objects. 

• Shoes: apply what you have learned to draw a shoe or two, matching or contrasting.

• Hand messages: continue to explore using value and subtle texture to create 3D hands. After practicing drawing the back of our hand, we will draw our hands in a variety of poses to create a sign-language or hand-signal message.

6-8 week session includes these or similar projects based on student’s interest and skill level.
