Brown Quilt Series
As a child I disliked the color brown, especially the pair of brown plaid pants my mother loved so much. But there comes a time to make peace with each color and find its beauty. This series began accidentally when a few quilts demanded to be made.

"Dad" (15"x20") In memory of Dad who died April 2006 Center panel made using silk screen technique while enrolled in Printmaking class at Indiana University Fall 2006. "Yearning for Balance" (43"x51.75") Created by Hilary Cannon Anderson. Inspired by March 12, 2014 Alvin Ailey Dance Ensemble performance of Revelations, especially "Fix Me Jesus". Created March 2014-March 18, 2015, Bloomington, Indiana.
"Morning After Hurrican Floyd" (37.5"x 43") Created by Hilary Cannon Anderson. When I flew to the Philadelphia Quilt Expo September 1999, my luggage was lost due to Hurrican Floyd.. There was so much rain that the Expo Center leaked and the parking lot flooded. We almost had to spend the night. In the end the rain stopped, the water drained, and we found a new hotel since the orginal had 8 feet of water in the lobby. The next morning dawned on gorgeous clear blue skies, but no luggage with perect landscape fabrics. So I used what I had brought for a differeent workshop with dramatic results.
