
Japanese Culture and Art (ages 5-10)
Using a variety of techniques we will make 2D and 3D projects inspired by Japanese art and culture.
Simple Fans: Decorate and fold a simple fan.
Koi Paintings: Paint a calm scene with Koi using Crayon resist technique.
Origami House Landscape: Fold three sizes of origami houses then use them to anchor a landscape with fore, middle, and background.
Insects: Create your own insect and design its native or captive habitat.
Japanese Dragon Drawing: Draw Japanese style serpentine dragons.
Koinobori (Koi Windsock): Decorate and assemble a Koinobori.
Lantern with Mon (family crest): Design your own Mon to hang from your 3D lantern.
8 Week workshop will include most projects, selected based on students interest and skill level.
